JONATHAN M. SHIFF PRODUCTIONS WINS CHILDREN'S PRODUCER OF THE YEAR AND AFI FOR BEST CHILDREN'S TELEVISION SERIES

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MONDAY 19 OCTOBER - Jonathan M. Shiff Productions has won two major awards within the past week, The Screen Producers Association of Australia (SPAA) Children's Producer of The Year and the Australian Film Institute (AFI) Award for Best Children's Television Series for CYBERGIRL.

The Jonathan M. Shiff Production THUNDERSTONE 3 was also nominated in the same AFI category for Best Children's Television Series.

A joint venture between Jonathan M. Shiff and Daniel Scharf, CYBERGIRL stars newcomers Ania Stepien (Cybergirl) and Craig Horner (Jackson). When a teenage prototype plunges from space into the world of Jackson Campbell, she changes his life, and the fate of River City forever. Utilising considerable visual effects and wire-work stunt action - CYBERGIRL tells the story of a fun loving teenager who just happens to be out of this world.

Jonathan Shiff says: "It is a great honour to be recognised by the AFI and SPAA for the high production values we bring to the screen for children around the world. It is a fantastic to end our year with these awards and makes us very excited and determined as we look towards the development of next years slate."

Jonathan Shiff is currently producing the series PIRATE ISLANDS. When three children are zapped into a land of 18th Century swashbuckling pirates, there is bound to be plenty of action and adventure! The 26 half-hour series began production in October 2001 and is currently shooting in Melbourne, Victoria after shooting in Port Douglas in Far North Queensland.
